InnerACTIONS (Adolescents Committed to Independence, Opportunity and a New Start) is an educational outreach project the purpose of which is to use performance mediums to positively impact our youth in the prevention of substance abuse. Our goal is to use the power of movement, vocal and theatre arts in a critical call to ACTION for the prevention of at-risk behaviors by promoting alternative activities with an emphasis on cultivating passion. Hip-Hop has become the voice of this generation and is the vehicle we use to engage adolescent audiences. InnerACTIONS uses a unique blend of film and live performance to deliver positive messages and thought provoking ideas about the pressures our youth face today. InnerACTIONS Is a 50 minute, high energy Hip-Hop and break dancing performance interlaced with a story line based on actual events told on film and translated through dance. The cast is comprised of high school student dancers and professionals, all of whom share a dedicated passion for dance and the arts in general.
OUR GOAL: is to introduce this engaging, inspirational project into High Schools and Middle Schools in Northern California/Nevada and beyond at little or no cost to the school.
InnerRhythms was founded in 2002 to promote cultural enhancement in the Truckee/Tahoe community through education, performance excellence and a unique, collaborative alliance between dance and other performing and media arts. Our mission is to use the power of dance and music to cultivate life skills in our youth and create an everlasting passion for the arts.
